Ade, founder of Ade Organics and Adejumo Childrens Books
“Self development and creativity motivates me. The need for self betterment and the pursuit of happiness keeps me going. There are always challenges everyday. I overcome challenges by being consistent, working hard everyday and learning from mistakes. “
Mbp: Please tell us about yourself, the many hats you wear?
Ade: I'm simple, straight forward and enjoy engaging people. I have many interests and love not fitting into a specific box.
I own the companies Ade Organics and Adejumo Childrens Books.
MBP:Your professional and cultural background?
Ade: I am from Nigeria. I have an LLM in International Law and International Relations. I am a children's book publisher/writer and also work in beauty and wellness. All very distinctive areas but I've always been a multi faceted person and love it.
MBP: Tell us about Ade Organics how did it come about?
Ade: Ade Organics is all about an organic lifestyle. My focus is health, organic, natural and vegan beauty/wellness. My product range at the moment are the natural soy candles which I've been making myself since 2012 and also my vegan nail polishes that are free of the chemicals substances that you find in regular nail polishes and gel nail polishes, such as formaldehyde, phthalate, toluene, camphor, dibutyl, parabens, perfume, formaldehyde resin, MIT, amyl cinnamal and ethanol.
There is also a sub-division of Ade Organics, which is Adejumo Childrens Books. This is a publishing company with separate activities from the beauty and wellness side of Ade Organics.
MBP: Why did you start your own company, what do you hope to achieve?
Ade: I think we should all explore our creativity whether we are doing it alongside our jobs or going full throttle for it. It is very important to do the things you are passionate about, and this constantly changes as we grow and evolve. I enjoy pursuing my creativity and I do this everyday. With my company Ade Oragnics, my goal is to symbiotically merge beauty, cosmetology and well being to promote a natural, healthy and organic lifestyle. Ade Organics is a brand that is synonymous with social responsibility and sustainability.
MBP: What prompted you to write the children´s book and how has it been received?
Ade: I love writing, I have always written many stories mostly about myself and my life. The older I got and the more I got to know myself, I realised the positive impact sharing my story can be to many people. I wrote and released my first book called ''Pancake Saturdays''. It is a true story about me as a child growing up and my mother. I wanted to share the story to encourage children because it also helped me greatly as a child to realise what is possible in spite of adversity.
Pancake Saturdays has been received very well. It is an endearing story that also reminds everyone about their own family traditions. I've got to hear many other wonderful stories about people and their family traditions through writing this book. It is my goal to publish not only more of my own children's books but also more children's books by people of colour. It would be great to represent many single stories under one platform, where all these single stories stand strong together with a common goal. A common goal of not only using these stories to bridge the diversity gap, but to also encourage and empower children and I look forward to being a facilitator of that.
MBP: What keeps your inner flame burning? and what challenges do you come across but how do you overcome them?
Ade: Self development and creativity motivates me. The need for self betterment and the pursuit of happiness keeps me going. There are always challenges everyday. I overcome challenges by being consistent, working hard everyday and learning from mistakes.
MBP: How do we empower the Afro-danish community and is there hope?
Ade: I have met many awesome Afro-Danes and I am proud to be African. We simply need to empower ourselves and support each other more in any way we can. There is hope as long as we stand with each other and realise the beauty of both our similarities and differences. We just need to realise that we are all special individually and we all have something unique to say regardless of our similarities or differences.

MBP: Which affirmations do you live by?
Ade: It's never too late to write a new chapter in your life and this quote helps me keep things in perspective. '' You only live once, so do what you feel passionate about. Don't be afraid to fail, to dream. Have dreams, but have goals. Dreams without goals are just dreams and they ultimately fuel disappointment. Give yourself a goal and understand that to achieve this goal you must apply discipline and consistency. You have to work at it everyday, you have to plan every day. Hard work works, working really hard is what successful people do.'' Denzel Washington
